Key words:
The study deals with the lasting problems of pupils’ motivation to learn, with special regard to finding reserves for the development of the pupils’ inner motivation and their educational self-regulation. The summary of the results registered at the end of the elementary school and concerning the overall development of the pupils’ driving motives to learn from the point of view of both pupils and teachers, compares simultaneously the teachcr’s view of a pupil and the pupil’s self-concept in the sphere of motivation. Attention is paid also to the methodology of the presentation of the selected results in connection with the simplification of their interpretation.
