This article is concerned with observation of the development of the social interaction preference of children at the beginning of school attendance. The data gathered come from questionnaire survey in 1999 and 2010. he survey involved observation of children 's favourite partners in communicating and also the development of their preferences for direct and indirect sociál interaction. The level of sociál interaction can be considered a crucial factor in support for reading literacy in school-age children. At the end of the article there are suggestions of ways in which chil¬dren interactions with parents can be strengthened.
