The article delimits the problems of Young p eop le ’s cultural receptivity on the level of the simple reception of an artefact, on
the level of following the interpretation process and the evaluation, finally on the level following the preservation processes as well as the relation of the reception to profiling the perceiver’s personality to his or her development, his or her creating the life values, perspectives and others, respectively in a broader measure to his or her social group or the whole population. Further on another aspect is dealt with in the article: the differenciation of the cultural receptivity concepts, in which the following streams are found: the stream enphasizing the formative conception and thus also the values aspects; the stream accentuating the affirmative functions and the subjective perceiver’s position; and the statutar stream in which — on a certain level of the cultural receptivitya component of a social status is seen.
The article introduces further on the possibilities of young people’s cultural receptivity researches and refers about the project of J. A. Comenius Institute, the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences, which has been formulated as a complex research of the state and the proper comprehending of the cultural receptivity of the age range 15—16 years having descriptive and explicative goals — It includes the theoretical conceptualization of the problem and the empirical inquiring into the problem in 3 etaps: The inquiry exploring 600—900 respondents, psychological
tests with a stratificated narrower sample, and by casuistics in contrast groups.
