The terminology as a special compound of the vocabulary of a natural language belongs to those subsystems which connect the language development with the society development at the closest. Comenius’ work as a basis for searching after the beginnings of developing the terminological system of modern sciences has an unsubstitutable place in our literature. A number of authors have already achived some partial conclusions. An obstacle of a more complex picture is seen in unequal starting points and goals of the terminological exploring in individual studies, in certain neglecting some parts of Comenius’ literary heritage, and in different character of older scientific literature. As the demands concerning the scientific language were not clear-cut in the past, the delimination of terminological elements sometimes cause certain troubles in some older texts.
