The article links up on the article by Josef Cach in the magazine „The Pedagogics“ from the year 1991 (Nr 2) on the development of politics and institutions in the area of schools after the year 1945. He points at the specificy of the conditions of education both in the years 1945-1948 as the years of hopes-and then the years of dogmatism, the personality cult and simplications – when the former hopes were destroyed. The period by the year 1968 follows; in the half of the 60s the criticism of those conditions reaches its height. The Soviet tanks destroy even those hopes. What follows is a period of a twenty years long normalization - and its trauma. Where to after the November 1989? A synthesis of views of the problems before the year 1939, and after the year 1945, leads to the putting together of the ideas and theories of our home-and of the theories of a bridge m which the stimulations of the West East, North and South will be multiplied m a creative way, and he residua of the periods which retarded the Czech and the Slovak educations will be overcome quicker than it has been so far.
