Author: Bendl, S.
Key words:
The article deals with the issue of discipline in schools. It focuses on characteristic traits of teachers from the perspective of pupils‘ discipline. Based on the study of classical and recent specialist literature, on his own experience as a teacher and on research, the author attempts to answer the question of which characteristics of teachers contribute to maintaining pupils‘ discipline. The results of the research, as to the list of a teacher‘s important characteristics, correspond to a large extent to data listed in specialized literature. Somewhat surprising though is the high percentage of pupils emphasizing the teacher‘s severity as a „necessary“ condition of the preservation of discipline - often, however, in connection with love.
