Before their entry to elementary schools, children possess a certain structure of notions about the school, about its socializing function and the demands that the school will put on them. Based on these notions, children create an image of an ideal school-child and form their initial (generally positive) relationship to school. As a result of an analysis of empirical data, the text shows what image of school children articulate and what are the contents of their expectations as to school in its substantial aspects (the role of a school-child, the education process, the contents of education, the status of a teacher etc.). Children‘s views in their own way reflect the current discourse on school in the social sphere of children. It is possible to understand this discourse as a source of formation of a particular relationship towards school in a positive delimitation.
