The article points out the relevance of institutional culture forming in school organisations. The given analysis results concerning the QWL and in communication at work four comprehensive schools show the relevance of such an assessment as well as the relevance of the use of it in school management. The results reveal first of all the teachers‘notions (e.g. notions of work, work perspectives, rewarding) and attitudes (attitudes to work, colleagues, conflicts resolution etc.). This is the reason why they become a part of the analysis of selected elements of the school institutional culture.
