The article approaches from the point of view of didactics to prôcesses of cognition in art education in the context of scientific subjects. With the support of a semiologic analysis the article shows similarities in the artistic and the scientific cognition and derives from them the importance of verification procedures for evolution of the epistemological competence of pupils. There are shown, on the example o art education, instructional possibilities of use of verification procedures in four dimensions of symbolisation: projective, mimetic, communicative and superprojective.
