The "Problems in Schools" Questionnaire: the First Attempt at the Czech Version Deci & Ryan show that teachers oriented toward control have a more negative or less positive impact on intrinsic motivation and identified regulation and integrated regulation. We assumed that teachers orientation mentioned above is integrally related to the De Charm’s conceptualization Origin vs. Pawn. The main reason of this study was to find basic psychometrics properties of the Questionnaire „Problems in Schools“ i.e. internal consistency, temporal stability and external validity. The responses from 59 teachers had a good (sufficient) psychometrics properties. Further the measure was shown to be externally valid in that teacher (Grades 5). Then we chose four classes of the teachers scoring above the mean in autonomy and four classes scoring bellow the mean in autonomy. 160 students (Grade 5) were given Nygard’s scale Origin vs. Pawn. One-way ANOVA revealed significant differences between the groups F (1,159) = 9.419; p = 0025. The first attempt at a Czech version looks promising.
