The contribution, in which we refer to the results of research into the relationship between the basic school and the family in the first half of the 1990s, follows on from the previous part, published in the last issue of Pedagogika. Here we concentrate on developments in the quality of cooperation between the schools and parents during the course of the child’s attendance at school. At the centre of our attention are the activities of the schools themselves - in the context of cooperation with the parents - and also the activities of the parents in this respect. It covers the whole range of views, expressed by schools about parents and by parents about schools and the expectations of both these institutions.
