In theoretical conceptions and practical orientations there prevails behaviouristic, technocratic and cognitivistic concepts of a personality and also educational goals, contents and processes. The present contribution to the wider discussion tries to conceptualize a system of humanistic orientation in pedagogy, namely in a comparative context with these conceptions. It presents author’s version of pedagogical concept of a personality in general. Afterwards it gives an explicit definition of the concept of personality of a learner and teacher, and of other components of teaching-learning system in his operative model of the humanistic learning and teaching, first of all from a standpoint of needs of the teaching occupation and study field. The empirically tested project includes 10 categories of characteristics and their subcategories of activities of humanistic teaching-learning.
