The adequacy and effectivity of the school-attendance delay (SAD) as a strategy of the correction of the children's unpreparedness was verified by the analysis of the school results and the behaviour data from the 1st form to the 7th form of the basic school. The verification was carried out with two comparable sets of Prague children: after the SAD and without it. With the set after the SAD a significant positive shift in the school results and behaviour was proved both statistically and practically in the first two basic school forms; in the forms 3 - 7 this improvement was partial and indicated. The SAD is strongly dependent upon the personality and the kind of troubles, E. G. it is higher with the boys and the children whose intellectual efficiency is on the average.
