The study summarizes some results and conclusions which came into being during the covering of the DU SPZV IX—10—2 by the half of the year 1989. It aims at contributing to the solving of the questions how to form the values orientation both in the educational practice and when exploring the contemporary conditions. At the same time it is becoming a reflex of certain conditions under which ithis forming passed.
The target of exploring is the relation to the values chosen (education, emotion, family) and to the cooperation of the family and school. On the basis of the theoretical analysis, the discussions with the teachers, and above all on the basis of a secondary analysis of some selected researches (educational, sociological, psychological) and the parents’ public inquiery in magazines, some conclusions have been achieved.
One of the sources of the complicated situation in education is seen in the fact that the influence of the society on the way of thinking and living of the family and its functioning, and the influence of social institutions on young people’s education was overestimated while the influence of the family was underestimated.
The unity of the educational functioning of the school and the family is a complicated but simplified which does not work, the co-operation of the two factors beimg formal above all as well. On the contrary, it is necessary to underline the specifics of all educational factors, especially those of the family and the school which also assumes the necessity of lookong for some possibilities of the mutual communication. In the possible integrational efforts the sholl does not play the main role. Neither the educational theory nor practice take into account sufficiently the fact that the family not only is an important determinant of creating the children’s and young people’s values orientation but that it is a determinant of the functioning of the school on this forming too.
