The study deals with the problems of the modernization of the teaching. The elementary question being elaborated here is the collective charakter of the teaching, the participation of the collective in the teaching, the teacher’s work with the collective of learners. On the basis of an analysis of the verbally object teaching as a conception in which the collective work cannot be applied, the authors search after a possibility for the applying of the collective in the teaching which is provided by the conception of the developing teaching, and by comprehending the teaching as a synthesis. It is how some works by Soviet authors are analyzed, that is from the point of wiew of the collective of learners being active in the teaching in the frame of the developing teaching. On this basis then some suggestions how to make use of the collective teaching, how to organize the work of the collective in the teaching, the forms of collective work are formulated in this study.
In this connection the authors of the study proceed from the elaborated theory of a collective and collective activities in the education. They analyze the possibilities of exploiting the group teaching, or at least some elements of it, they deal with the inner organization of the collective work in the frame of the school teaching, They arrived at the conclusion that the contemporary teaching which is seen as a specific institutional form of education is not possible without the work with the collective. Suggestions which are the result of the analysis, of the teaching theory and practive can be applied only under the condition that also the teacher is prepared for the work with the collective.
