In the Soviet pedagogics and psychology the problematic of a personality has been of the key-consequence since that problematic was introduced Its importance has been growing. It is given by the time we live in, by the increasing significance of a subjective factor in the stage of building up developed socialism.
To solve the questions of a personality, of his or her coming into being and of his or her development means to penetrate into the foundations of a productive life orientation of the man who is concretely and historically situated in certain social relations, originates from them, and at the same time creates them.
The essay has shown that a close cooperation of psychology and pedagogics is both a presupposition of a further promotion of the theory of a personality and of the furthering of the effectivity of the communist educational practice. On the example of A. V. Petrovskies conception the essay has drawn nearer some trends uniting the fertile tradition of the Soviet theory of a personality and its new, educationally relevant and perspective tasks.
