The author of this article interprets the factual and methodological findings on the effectivity of the contents of education, the conception and methodics of which were published in the journal Pedagógica, vol. 35, year 1985, no. 3. p. 329-337.
This research attempted to find out whether it would be possible to describe with the aid of a complex of scientifically substantiated general symbols the curriculum of a certain type of school, to present its objective qualitative characteristic features and evaluate — before it had been put into practice — its presumable pedagogical effectivity.
Results of this research showed that it is possible to present, with the aid of general symbols of the curriculum, a relatively allround and objective characteristic of the contents of the curriculum of a certain grade and type of the school as a whole. This characteristic can fulfill certain prognostic functions in estimating the probable effectivity of the real formative possibilities of the curriculum. At the same time it shows the necessity to work out further the methodological problems and methodics of this type of research.
