Key words: initial reading literacy revise of Bloom taxonomy methodology of reading.
The páper presents a research project on the quality of initial reading literacy of pupils in the second grade at primary school, and selected results of this research. For the purposes ofthe research project initial reading literacy was defined as a complex multi-component process consisting of several levels. Using the research results we try to identity different components in the quality of initial reading literacy in the sample of pupils in-vestigated. The research sample of pupils was selective. The criterion for selection was the method ušed to teach initial reading with these pupils in the previousyear. The research methodology was mixed, and the research is an account of the field investigated.
