He works mainly in the field of teachers\u2019 professional development, formative assessment, reading literacy, general and social science didactics and qualitative methodology. He teaches qualitative research methods for doctoral students and classes, as well as professional development of teachers for master\u2019s students. His recent work has been focused on issues of formative assessment of students in social science classes. His main interest is also on effective teaching methods in reading, cognitive and affective aspects of comprehension in reading literacy, approaches to teaching and evaluation of teaching.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Karel has been involved in several research and development projects on a national and international level.
