Activity is, for contemporary pedagogy, on the one hand one of the means of moulding the child’s personality, on the other hand one of the results of education, a personality’s trait which is significant from the social point of view. It is necessary to distinguish between the various meanings of the term ≫activity≪, namely:
1. activities, process,
2. state, activation level,
3. general feature of all psychological phenomena,
4. the need for activity,
5. activity of temperament,
6. activity of character,
7. activity as participation of the individual in social and public life or as a quality manifested by such participation. The authors characterize activity in pedagogical and pedagogico-psychological the above-mentioned meanings and their aspects.
