The paper proceeds from V. N. Miasiščev’s experiment to formulate the contents of relations as one of the basic components of psychical life, and involves the communist- minded relation to work, solved by V. A. Suchomlinský in his communication on research of Pavliš's school. The aesthetic relation to work comprises the ability to aesthetically perceive, understand and live through the working process, to evaluate it aesthetically; moreover, it comprises the efforts to apply and develop the aesthetic qualities of work and their conditions, the result of work, and the working milieu. The development of the aesthetic relation to work consists of various stages, the relation itself showing different trends and dominating factors in the individual cases. In aesthetic working reactions, aesthetization and the recognition aspect of the working milieu, as well as the recognition elements in man’s aesthetic relation to work in general are of special importance. The aesthetic relation to work has its subjective and objective, interior and expressive aspects which do not fully correspond to one another. Contradictions in the intensity of the relation and in the habits a working man contracts in the course of work are appearing. This fact restricts the methods of research in this sphere which can be carried out in a complex manner only. In the first stage of research, it is necessary to elucidate the essence of the aesthetic relation to work and to substantiate its necessity in communist society.
