(EN) The Role of Knowledge in Forming Communist Conviction

The forming of the communist conviction among the youth is one of the main tasks of education in our society. The vagueness of the term ≫conviction≪ leads to incorrect methods of work being used in forming it. The article first explains the term ≫conviction≪ and then, on the basis of its characteristics, goes on to deal with the problems of forming it among the youth. Special attention is given to the questions of knowledge in relationship to forming the communist conviction. From this point of view the author analyses the direct influence of society and the influence of society through the intermediary of the school, the influence of knowledge gained from natural and social sciences. The process of acquiring knowledge in classroom instruction is appraised from the point of view of transmitting knowledge, skills and habits as well as from the point of view of forming the young people’s attitudes to the phenomena they are learning about. Therefore he deals with the active participation of pupils in the lessons, the utilisation of the pupil’s own experience, the combination of bits of knowledge and experiences gained by pupils themselves with those gained on a general level at school, the young people’s knowledge of contemporary social problems, the formation of a firm system of social science concepts, a practical application of knowledge. The elaboration of individual problems is based on a research into social experience and the knowledge of the youth.
