The author mentions problems of present-day society which ought to be forestalled and limited to the least possible degree through the influence of sexual education. It is pointed out that family environment is of primary importance in forming the children’s basic attitudes towards questions of sex. Sexual education at school ought to be given from the first year consistently, without the flavour of something exceptional, by teachers trained for this purpose. The closest possible co-operation with parents is essential. The publication of a teacher’s handbook dealing with sexual education is recommended.
