The article „The Formation of a Totalitarian Educational System in the Post- War Czechoslovakia“ is a sociological view of the rise and development of an educational system during first twenty years after the second world war. It analyses the resources and the roots of that period educational culture. It deals with both the historical circumstances of the rise and the acception of the unified socialist school conception and other economic and political factors which determine its functions. It gives characteristics of many accompanying features of the totalitarian education inclusive of the power inspection of education process, the damage of generation continuity, devaluation education as value, ideologization of universities and high schools, the fenomen of selftaught person, the distribution of privileges. The conclusion of the article points out how today school is connected with the remainders of totalitarian practice, which burden the orientation and the fighting power of people enagaged in educational changes.
