The requirement to humanize education had become a world-wide problem. It is especially topical in Czechoslovakia but, in spite of this fact, there is not yet any work this kind. This research starts from the topicality of Comenius’s concept of schools as workshops of humanity and from his concept of universal culture od everybody; it is based also on the analysis and evaluation of present anthropological approaches in educational thought and practice in the world. The aim is to demonstrate the significance of Comenius tradition. It is especially aimed to bring the concrete suggestions for perspective changes of inner work and life of school, to demonstrate, how to solve the problems of goals, content, methods and operation of the process of education today. At the same time, the project is a contribution to the jubilee of Comenius in 1992.
