Free time and its educational evaluation have brought substantial qualitative change into the lives of the individual, the young generation and the whole of 20,h century society. They have reached all socicty members, various social environments and various stages of the continually prolonging human life. Their range has expanded, their contents, modes and methods of implementation have been differentiated. In all of these directions, they have been gaining in importance and complexity. Both socicty and the individual should therefore respond accordingly: by learning to make sensible and active use of them for the sake of oneself and of others. Attention should be paid to the analysis of the changes so far and to the prognoses of the expectcd development; to the outcomes that should create socially favourable conditions for such way of life, such system of values and for such conception.
