Annotation:
Several terminological obscurities exist in the area of educational care for retired people. The significance of educational activities in the post-productive age is on an increase. The role of education at this age can be summarized as preventive, anticipatory, rehabilitational and strenghtening. Presently, „Third-age Universities“ dominate in the area of education, however popular universities, third-age academies and active oldage clubs also cannot be neglected. „Thirdage Universities“ are a specific component of lifelong education. Participants acquire a special student status. In these educational activities, an emphasis is above all put on social psychological aspects of the education of old-age people. The importance of educational activities lies their showing ageing and older people a new life perspective. To them, education represents life aid.
