The article presents a qualitative research carried out in an 8th grade class of a Czech basic school. The authors traced two main lines in the entire set of games - sexual and provocative. Games with overt and covert sexual motives represent the sexual line. The chapter “Analysis of the Game” where the autors specify closely the sexual element in a game deals with one of the games with a covert sexual motive called “Velká pardubická steeplechase” (the name of the game corresponds to a horse-racing event). The provocative line is represented in games where class mates snatch and damage each other’s things (e.g. the game called “ventilating the school-bag”). This serves to ease tension within the group which can then carry on operating as a coherent group. The scope of games from the perspectives of complexity, degree of organization, but also partial sexuality corresponds to the stage of adolescence which the pupils find themselves in. Above all, it expresses the relations of pupils to each other and to the outer world.
