The article follows the traces of the notion/ /concept of „instruction“ (Bildung) in German linguistic and spiritual tradition from the mystical, teological and ontological conceptions to modem anthropology and education. The linguistic matrice of the german word „Bildung“ hiddens a rich display of meanings and connections with the creativity, formation of self, projective endeavours, individualization and elevation of an individual to the general. This tradition leads into an anthropological conception of instruction as the way of practical action and the way of becoming mature and adult person.
