The study is concerned with television broadcasting for children and young pcop le. The principle of the positive message of television for children of pre-school age is to encourage the feeling that the world is a safe place and that there are grown-ups who like children. In the school-age category, television should enable children to identify with heros of their own age who experience real „stories from life“. For young adolescents, broadcasts should offer space and stimuli for identification and comparison of the self and others, and encouragement to communication. The central theme of broadcasting for older adolescents is respect between contemporaries and acceptance by older people.
