(EN) The effects of TV broadcasting on viewers

The article informs of the results of an investigation among TV viewers and of an expert research on the problems of the influence of TV transmissions on children and youth. The object of the investigation, which was realized at the end of the year 1995, were TV programs transmitted by all the TV stations active in the whole territory of the Czech Republic, i.e. programs of ČT 1, ČT 2, Nova and Premiéra stations. The article also gives an evaluation of negative elements such as violence, pornography and others, as found in the individual stations. The results of the investigation show that especially TV Nova programs contain these negative elements to a considerable extent and they often have a negative influence on the socialization of children and youth.
