This article deals with the present stage of research on the principles applied in the selection of the contents of the upbringing and education in the kindergartens in pre-school pedagogical literature. It further summs up practical experiences gained from the application of these principles in the choice of the contents of the upbringing and education in the history of the programs of educational work in the kindergartens until the present.
It points to the general insufficiencies of this research and to the fact that it lags tar behind practical needs of the norms required by the pre-school apparatus. In a critical analysis of the approaches to this topic since the year 1945 the author suggests a number of solutions.
She defines the system of principles governing the choice of the contents of upbringing and education in the kindergartens. It is made up of the principles of class character, party character, tenacity of purpose, scholarship, unity of theory and practice, systematic character, suitable age and the principle of taking full advantage of the progressive experiences pertaining to this, accumulated by history.
