Annotation:
The scientific and technological revolution requires fundamental, qualitative changes in the training of young people for blue-collar occupations. The necessary pre-requisites for these changes must be created by the educational system itself.
Changes in the character and content of workmen’s jobs and the democratization of education on a higher level make complete secondary education necessary for an ever-increasing number of young people training for blue-collar occupations.
The project of the Czechoslovak educational system is in keeping with the above- mentioned requirements.
The hitherto weakest link in the Czechoslovak educational system — the training of apprentices — is gradually acquiring a status of equality with the rest of the educational system and is informally becoming one of the streams of secondary education.
