The formation of the scientific world outlook forms the basis and the pivot of com^ munist education of the generation that is growing up. That is why the greatest attention has always been given to the formation of the scientific world outlook by the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia, which, as the leading force of socialist construction in the country, has been consistent in its efforts to make Marxist-Leninist teaching also the basis of all the educational work of the school. But in the period from 1949 to 1955 the problems involved in forming the scientific world outlook were not given sufficient attention by the pedagogical science, and this was reflected in certain drawbacks in the work of schools, which weakened the formation of the scientific world outlook. A favourable turning point was marked by the 20th Congress of the C. P. s. U., which, by removing the obstacles to the development of Marxist- Leninist theory also meant the beginng of a new era in the creativa development of Marxist pedagogical science. The 22nd Congress of the C. P. S. U. and the new programme of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union have enriched this development with a number of further important suggestions.
On the basis of a creative development of Marxist-Leninist teaching, as embodied in the Congress materials, it is also possible further to elaborate the theoretical problems involved In forming the scientific world outlook. The 22nd Congress has made it clear that the character of Marxist-Leninist teaching is, above all, uniform and harmonious on principle, and it must be understood as a guide to a revolutionary reshaping of the world. Formation oř the scientific world outlook must therefore be understood as an educational process leading to profound (I. e. theoretical) mastery of ideas of scientific communism, with which children and young people must be made familiar In a non-booklsh way, in close connection with practical life. The principle of close connection between school and the building of a communist society is thus the main principle governing the communist education of the youth and the acquiring of the world outlook of Marxism-Leninism.
Therefore the 22nd Congress as well as the new programme of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union have made the formation of a communist atittude to work the focal point of all communist education. In this connection the 22nd Congress underlined the treonendous significance of communist moral education, which has been placed on a firm footing In the principles set forth in the ethical code of a builder of communism. Moral education, which concentrates In a most expressive manner the special character of Marxist-Leninist teaching as the supreme unity of theory and practice, becomes the programme of all communist education ; it practically realises also the formation of the scientific world outlook, 1. e. acquiring the Ideas of scientific communism so that these ideas may become the driving force of people’s actions which will give rise to a world of real humanism — the world of communism.
