The aim of ethical training in the period of transition to Communism is the edu- Ccitlon of man, who can live and wants to live according to the ethical principles laid down in the Program me of the CPSU (Communist Party of the Soviet Union). For this aim to be reached it is necessary to makp the education of the young generation a concern of all the members of society and to improve the school education.
In the atmosphere of the »war of Ideas« the commun^lst principle of tenacity of purpose rem ains first and foremost In ethical training: The Inking up of education With life and recognising the leading role of work in forming the moral qualities of man are, together with other principles, the main principles Instrumental In shaping the methods of ethical training of the youth. The adverse effects of the personality cult can be dealt with by combining the principle of guidance in education with the principle of encouraging pupils’ initiative and independence The essence of the new approach to ethical training Is the combining of the existing methods of educational influence with the organisation of the pupils life and activities.
What will contribute to further perfection of ethical education is a fraternal co-operation of educationists of all the Socialist countries in going deeper into, and further elaborating, the principles and methods in shaping the new man.
