Work has always been the creator of material values. The educational role of work in the period of the building of communism is increasing because here the aim of production is man, the all-round development of his abilities, talents and gifts. Therefore the foremost the foremost task of education is the psychological, moral preparation of every man for highly productive creative work.
For work to satisfy the material as well as spiritual needs of man, it must be not only higly productive, but it must also become comprehensive, creative, interesting. In communism this will be reached by removing the old division of labour, by educaing universally developed and prepared people, who are able to do anything.
At the same time it is necessary to bring about a fundamental change in the attitudeof people towards values, satisfying material as well as spiritual needs. The new attitude towards values must be formed from the very childhood, because, the deeper is the joy experienced at this age from work aimed at preserving social values, the nearer to the heart of man are nation-wide interests.
The main source of spiritual forces forming the spiritual aspect of the man of the future are the moral stimuli of work. Wherever material values are being created there are more and more people for whom work has become not only a source of procuring the necessities of life, but also a source of joy, the domain of their spiritual life. It is very important for these people to influence as much as possible the minds of children and the youth.
To educate the young generation in the spirit of communist work means to form such an attitude to work and social ownership in which the individual’s care for the welfare of society becomes his most important moral quality. The primary task of the educational work of the Soviet school is to reveal fully the strength and the ability of each child in work, to make him give the society all he can give when his talents are fully developed, so that work for society may beoome(an organic need for him. Only under this condition can society satisfy the rich needs of each man.
