Education in graphic and plastic art contributes to the education of a universally educated and harmoniously devolopnd man in the socialist and communist society, Its aim is to awaken and promote the abilities of artistic expression of the pupils and to acquiant them with graphic and plastic a rt: to give them the basic knowledge, skills and habits, necessary for a practical ability to draw and paint as well as for a conscious understanding of art: to develop the creative abilities of the youth and to foster their aesthetic feeling únd taste.
Education in graphic and plastic art leads the youth to a deeper understanding of nature and society and thereby to the materialistic world outlook. It teaches the pupils to understand the beauty of nature, society and human work. Progressive works of art become a source of education leading to socialist humanism, patriotism, internationalism, love and respect for people and for work ; they become a medium for emotional and ethical education of the youth. Education in graphic and plastic art also refines the pupils’ sense of usefulness and beauty of things all around us. Prompt mastery of drawing as a communicating medium is a good preparation for life and contributes to the polytechnical education of the pupils.
Education in graphic and plastic art promotes the all-round development of the pupils: it develops their powers of observation, their imagination as regards shape, colour and space, their memory, it improves and refines their taste. The creative character of the work in graphic, and plastic arts, its variety, practical application as well as the emotional participation of pupils in the work are a source of joy and optimism of life.
