(EN) The Antithesis of Out-of-class and Out-of-school Education of Pupils in Capitalist and Socialist Society

The development of school and education during capitalism is determined by economical and political interets of the bourgeoisie and is influenced by the two principal factors: a) by the fact the bourgeoisie has had need of prepairing the workers for growing industry and need of educating its own inteligentia, b) by the effort of the working class striving after a higher culture. This state of things is reflected also in the out-of-school education of youth which is influenced by class differences.
The out-of-school education of pupils, as organized by state, is characterized by following marks:
a) it is not consonant for all children (the discrimination is based on social station of their parents, not on childre's talents and interests);
b) it is separated from the school education system;
c) it is onesidedly aimed mainly at practical preparation for a manual labour profession;
d) in the educational sphere it is limited on a moral control making use of religion;
e) it is supported to be a social and not an educational organization;
f) There is a twofold character of the out-of-class education of pupils organized by various associations and federation: The bourgeoisie associates youth in political and state organisations of reactionary character or tries to influence youth by means of organizations, associations and clubbs of various mission; the working class, on the other hand, forms its own profressive children and youth organizations.
In contrary to the out-of-class education in capitalist society, the socialist out-of-class educationof pupils is based on following principles:
a) it is controled by state offices and forms a part of the education of children and youth;
b) it is controled by state offices and forms a part of the education of children and youth;
c) all parts of it complets each other in one unified pedagogical system;
d) it is an organic part of the educational teaching system;
e) it is suposed to be educational and not a mere social institution;
f) in attends systematically to allround development of individual faculties and interests of children and youth, in accordance with the needs of the whole community;
g) it is not limited only as circles of interests but uses all educational occasions of the life of socialist community ;
h) practical activity is connected with theoretical knowledge which tends to a deep understanding of the laws of nature and society;
ch) it is one of the most important educational providing making the reach of the aim of communist education of youth nearer and sure.
