(EN) Ideological Aspects in the Political Education of the West German Youth

The article gives a characterization of the social and state constitution of the German Federal Republic, as a state of monopols and political reaction, and shows how It corresponds to the type of the Ideology which contents the most reactionary elements. All this Ideological armament serves to the revenge directed against the German Democratic Republic, the Czechoslovak Republic, the people in Poland and against the U. S.S.R. In the second part of the article the author Is occupied with the system of West German education and the present state of It. The three branches of educational system In the German Federal Republic are shown to be corresponding to the class interest of an imperialistic state; the Influence upon school Is masqued by a cultural autonomy of Individual countries, and the extensive privatization and confeslonallzatlon of education becomes an Instrument of reactionary forces. In spite of an autonomy and privatization of the education In the Geirman Federal Republic there Is a whole scale of institutions the task of which is especially to exert an ideological and political influence upon the education of youth.
Quoting from official regulations and from historical and geographical text books, the third part of this article shows the revenge and anticommunist contents of the education and culture in the German Federal Republic. The author is occupied with a political culture (polltlsche Blldung) and with a theory about the East (Ostkunde). He shows the attitude of West German text books, taken up towards the loss of the territory in the East after the Second World War. Basing on an analysis of the text books, the article shows the way of teaching history and geography in the German Federal Republic, the admiration of conquering foreign countries, namely colonies, the racism and the standpoint of the Germans as being supposedly other nations’ superior. There is adduced how the West German text books find the way, among critical words, to present Hitler to the youth as worthy of admiration, and how youth should be educated in dread of the Russians and in hartred towards them.
To the end, the article accents the military revengeful and anticommunist education becomes a serious danger for peace.
