In this article the author deals with the tasks of cultural revolution at the present stage of building and achieving socialism in our country. He defines the basic notions, the content of culture, especially spiritual culture, explains the class character of culture, and then follows the development of our school, education of youth and educational policy from 1945. The first period up to 1D48 was a period of struggle for the démocratisation of our education, i. e. struggle for removing the old bipartite school system and replacing it by a uniform school. The victory over reaction in February 1948 opened up a new stage in the building of socialism. In the field of education, the Uniform School was enacted and Its curriculum gradually re-appraised in accordance with the needs of socialist society. The Xlth Congress of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia has outlined a long-term perspective providing for the majority of our youth to receive complete secondary education and acquire some basic skill so as to be able to do a skilled worker’s job, by 1970. Therefore our primary task at present is the transformation of our school into a polytechnical and working school. This transformation involves a great number of theoretical as well as practical problems, which will have to be solved.
