As a result of the extension of the scope of educational and instructional work of the school to the operation of enterprises, pedagogical theory and practice are confronted with numerous problems. Pedagogical science has so far been confined to research work within school environment. But now the research work will have to be extended also to the productive environment of the operation of the enterprises in which the pupils are going to work.
In a brief summary the author has tried to clear up some questions concerning the correlation between the choice of the content, teaching methods, and organizational forms of the pupils’ work on the one hand, and the productive operation of the enterprise on the other hand.
Research carried out in a typical engineering works has shown that the main factors by which the productive operation of the enterprise influences the content, teaching methods and organizational forms of the pupils work are, above all, the occupations and trades in which individual workers of the enterprise are employed, the kind of work they do, and the requirements the workers have to comply with to be able to do that particular kind of work, mainly requirements as regards knowledge and skills; other factors are working relations between workers, the object of work, i. e. that which is the result of the work, the means of production the workers use in their work, and finally the organizational structure of the enterprise, i. e. how the entire production of the enterprise is organized.
All these factors have special tasks of their own in the productive operation of the enterprise, they are closely correlated with one another, mutually influencing one another, and their development is subject to the laws governing the development of socialist production as a whole.
The quantitative and qualitative analysis of the above-mentioned factors and partial conclusions drawn from the research have shown that each of these factors affects the choice of the content, the teaching methods and the organisational forms of the pupils’work in its own particular way and to a certain extent.
