(EN) New Possibilities in the Psychological Training of the Socialist Teacher

An analysis of requirements a Socialist teacher is expected to meet has resulted in pointing out the necessity of improving the quality of the psychological preparation of future teachers. Further improvement of the educational process is still often hindered by inadequate training of teachers in the field of socio-psychological skills. The Socialist teacher plays the central role in the educational process by guiding and controlling all its aspects. In addition to political and professional preparedness it is necessary for teachers to be well prepared for controlling social processes going on in school as well as out of school. In order to raise the efficiency of the educational process the authors consider it necessary, besides training teachers in socio-psychological skills, to facilitate also the efficiency motivation and creative abilities of teachers. A theoretical as well as practical starting point for the implementation of these objectives is considered by the authors to be especially the conception of active social teaching worked out in the Psychological Institute of the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences by Mr Linhart and Mr Perlaki. A two-year experimental seminar at the College of Education in České Budějovice, about which the article briefly informs the reader, will serve to verify the given hypotheses and individual programmes.
