Annotation:
The radical democrat Karel Sabina, the participant of the »Repeal« in 1848 spent his prison years in Olomouc to pay for his revolutionary enthusiasm, mainly because he openly proclaimed his adherence to the national tradition of the Hussite revolution as well as to the newly born communism. Bach’s Austrian police put him, just as J. V. Frič and Josef Barák as well as Havlíček Borovský, under its control, but he did not resist as Barák, Havlíček or J. V. Frič, and entered its services. This effected his further activity in which he was able to continue, in a less open form, also in the sphere of the adult education of the people, as hidden camouflage, which Julius Fučík explained, and partly also defended, from the psychological view as of one of -the predecessors of the avantguard of the working, class. The complicated formulation of his »spiritual communism« incorporated all the essential elements of his revolutionary propaganda, but using the bouregois, popular phraseology of the current progress, of all the strata of the national society.
