The activation of the process of communist education and the struggle against unproductive educational formalism are urgent tasks of contemporary education theory and practice. One of the ways helping to make the system of educational knowledge and propositions attractive, to interiorize and activate them in the subject of education to transform them into educational values of personal conviction and attitudes, is just a spontaneous application of the mental hygiene accent to the educational process. It is just by stressing the emotional volitional component of the personality being educated that Its rational instructional content reaches a higher level of educational values arising from the unity of its rational and emotional-volition components, and thus makes the subject of education committed and directly involved in the process of education. This accent helps to mould the educational process as an effective process of values. Mental hygiene is closely related to moral education, too. Many mental disturbances are caused by the fact that young people often get into conflict with the moral social values of communist education. By making the educational process committed, attractive for the subject of education, the mental-hygiene approach is also a medium helping to prevent and eliminate unhealthy moral conflicts. By its mental-healing motivation this approach makes the process of education more attractive and prospective, freeing It from the pathology of anxiety and fear. It is a medium against alienation, against the subject of education running away from its social power field of values into socio-moral educational anti-values.
