(EN) To Extend and Strengthen the Socialist Character of the Pioneer Organization of the Socialist Youth Union

The Socialist Youth Union and its Pioneer Organization developed, after its 1st Congress in 1972, its activities and thus has a broad impact on a wide circle of children and youth. It plays an important role in the preparation of the young generation for life and work in the socialist society, it teaches them to work for their contemporates, helps to shape their noble interests and hobbies. One of the essential and basic conceptions of the Socialist Youth Union and the Pioneer Organization is its class-historical essence. This means that the children’s and youth progressive movement arose from the needs of the workers’ revolutionary movement, as part of this movement as well as to serve its aims. The Pioneer Organization of the Socialist Youth Union is a children’s socialist social organization of Czechoslovak children. It is linked with the socialist society not only by the ideological foundations and traditions, but mainly by its present activity. Its main educational aims are: — Education leading to the scientific world outlook, socialist style, collectivism, to the appreciation and esteem of human labour. The process of educational work of the Pioneer Organization of the Socialist Youth Union brings about a synthesis of the social principles and the general educational-psychological principles. This links makes it possible to realize, in educational work, the interests and needs of the society as well as to respect the needs and particularities of the children.
