(EN) A Contribution to the Research on the Wishes and Activites of the Youth in Their Leisure Time

By means of the questionnaire method described in a previous paper, data have been collected about the leisure, time wishes and activates of 2929 pupils at Prague Elementary Nine-Year Schools, Secondary General Schools, Technical Colleges and Apprentice Schools. In all essential data the results of the research correspond with the results obtained by other authors. What is new are the data concerning especially the agreement and disagreement of the wishes with activities realized, and the extensiveness of the wishes and activities. Thus information has been obtained about unfulfilled wishes and, on the other hand, about activates realized to a greater extent than the strength of the motivation would suggest, and consequently about various forms of frustration in the youth’s leisure time, and about the development of versatility and concentration (or distraction and one-sidedness, as the case may be) of young people. It shows some new aspects in the personality development, in comparing this development according to sex, as well as in analysing the respective educational problems.
