Annotation:
The author characterizes the dynamic of the development of Soviet pedagogy by comparing the sphere systematized in textbooks with the problem sphere, in which there are still a number of open questions. This comparison is made on the basis of themes concerning the general fundamentals of pedagogy, didactics, and the theory of education. The first part deals with new approaches to the question of the relation between social and biological factors; the second part contains the characterization of some new trends in didactics, especially the efforts to intensify and bring up-to-date the initial stage of the teaching process; the third part contains an analysis of some new ideas regarding the question of stimuli, motives, needs, conflicts and choice in the sphere of moral education. The fourth part gives information about some concrete measures in the field of school reform in the USSR, the fifth and final part then confronts the Soviet experience with our own effort to modernize the Czechoslovak school and points out the common aims and the common ideological basis of both these school systems.
