(EN) The Question of Establishing the Requirements of the Communist Society as to Man’s Education

The future communist society will have as to the education and character training of man. In tackling this problem it is necessary to avoid the mistakes of the past and work out a really scientific way of ascertaining society’s requirements as to man’s education. Marxist pedagogy must solve this task in close co-operation with other sciences dealing with the state and the prospective development of society. Its solution consists in finding out all that is required as a pre-requisite for activities in a certain section of society’s life and in appraising these requirements from the viewpoint of their place in general and technical education on the basis of several criteria. One of the criteria of such an appraisal may be e. g. the extent to which the requirement makes itself felt in social practice, another criterion is the logical and pedagogical systematism and the like. The study deals with the sources from which one can get information about the requirements of society as to man’s education and the method of finding them out and it evaluates some of them. It points out that the question is to find methods of setting down the aims of education on the basis of scientific findings and classification of requirements which society will have with regard to man in the future so that education may look ahead in preparing future generations for the new conditions.
