The author provides an account of some educational difficulties resulting from the acceptance of certain social processes and from their conceptualisation. The first part of the article deals with the increasing influence of the so-called retroactive socialization impact and of the once secondary socialization instances (the media, the market, sub-cultures) which are considered by the author as a possible major factor in understanding the process of socialization and in the process of socialization in family and in school itself. In the second part, the influence of new reflexive sociological conceptions on the science of education is examined which resulted in the construcion of the so-called reflexive educational science which the author sees as one of the most challenging contemporary educational conceptions. Its analytic tools enable to identify many problems in the present-day educational functionalism, discussed in the final part of the article exclusively in the light of these new sociological conceptions.
