Reforms of the school systems both in socialist and in capitalist countries as well as the innovations in the education — al process demonstrate the rising significance of the comparative pedagogics as of an important means of information and stimulation as well as of a helper when developing educational conceptions. The comparative point of view lines up the solvation of all the school problems and thus also the competence of the decision making. That is where above all the pragmatic function of the comaprative pedagogics rests, as well as itse orientation and prognostic functions directed to the perspectives of the solving of the most important tasks of the school in the future. The comparative pedagogics, concerning the whole wide area of the educational reality from the comparative standpoint and assisting to integrate special educational disciplines into the general educational plan, has an important integrative function too.
Organs and institutions of international contacts are becoming always more significant, and that both in the frame of the socialist communities, and in the global dimensions. This international education is a significant means of uniting the efforts of the educationalists of both socialist educationalists, and a broad international cooperation and communication. Especially the following aspects are actual for the comparative pedagogics in socialist countries:
a) the concentration and evaluation of innovations in the school-systems of advanced capitalist countries from the standpoint of their possibilities to stimulate the educational development in the socialist school;
b) the elaboration of conceptional comparative studies concerning the solving of elementary problems of a further development of the socialist educational system.
